Nagaon: Assam’s Minister for Agriculture, Irrigation and Parliamentary Affairs, Pijush Hazarika, today formally assumed charge as the Guardian Minister of Nagaon district (Pijush Hazarika Nagaon Visit). After assuming the charge he attended a review meeting at the Office of the District Commissioner, Nagaon where he reviewed the progress of various developmental and welfar district. During the meeting, Shri Hazarika reviewed the implementation of key government initiatives, including the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhiyan (CMAAA), Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, and schemes under the Agriculture, Health, Public Works, Irrigation and other departments. He urged officials to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every deserving beneficiary through sincere and efficient implementation.
The Minister also directed the Health Department to maintain high standards of cleanliness in hospitals and healthcare institutions and stressed the need for greater inter-departmental coordination to accelerate development. Highlighting the importance of agricultural self-reliance, Shri Hazarika said that all concerned departments must work together to ensure that Assam produces the essential food commodities required by the State. Conducting the meeting, the DC Nagaon Devashis Sharma welcomed him with a gamocha and Sarai and said that all officers are ready to serve the district under his guidance.
The meeting was attended by the all MLAs of the district, like, Rupak Sharma, Jitu Goswami, Shasiksnta Das, Nurul Huda, Mehbub Mukter and Tanjil Hussain besides districts heads of the all departments.
Earlier in the day, the Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Residential School at Kathiatoli in Nagaon district. Built under the Assam Samagra Shiksha Mission, the new facility is expected to strengthen educational infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for students.
