Illegal Parking Crackdown in Nagaon: District Administration Wheel-Locks Vehicles, Imposes Heavy Fines Nagaon Cracks Down on Illegal Parking: Vehicles Wheel-Locked on DC Devashish Sharma’s Orders

Nagaon: To address the persistent traffic congestion in Nagaon town and the problems caused by vehicles being haphazardly and illegally parked on roads (Illegal Parking Crackdown in Nagaon) and along the National Highway, the Nagaon district administration has introduced a wheel-locking system for offending vehicles . The special measure has been implemented from today under the specific instructions of the District Commissioner, with the objective of ensuring smooth movement of the public and reducing traffic-related disruptions.

From Wednesday, traffic police attached wheel locks to several cars and motorcycles parked illegally or in a manner causing obstruction at various locations across the town, triggering panic among those accustomed to illegal parking. Vehicle owners were subsequently required to pay substantial fines. It is hoped that this initiative will help ease the town’s traffic congestion problem to some extent.

As part of this initiative, District Commissioner Devashish Sharma formally launched the programme on Tuesday at his office chamber by ceremonially handing over a wheel-lock clamp to Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Jiten Kumar Dutta in the presence of Nagaon Municipal Board Executive Officer Pankaj Bhuyan. District Information and Public Relations Officer Bikash Sharma stated that the measure has been adopted to improve traffic management in the town and strengthen road safety enforcement.

The tyre lock clamp, provided by the District Road Safety Committee, will now be used in Nagaon town as well as along the four-lane Nagaon bypass. Trucks or any other vehicles found parked illegally will have their wheels locked, and violators will face hefty fines and legal action. The District Commissioner has appealed to all residents of Nagaon to follow traffic regulations and extend full cooperation to the district administration in keeping the town free from traffic congestion.
