Nagaon: A two-days Capacity Building Workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme was commenced yesterday , i.e., on 16th July, 2026 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaon for agriculture sector beneficiaries under the Chief Minister's Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0.
The programme has been organized by the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC) Ltd. and is being implemented by the District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), Nagaon in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, AAU, Nagaon. The objective of the workshop is to enhance the knowledge, technical skills and entrepreneurial capabilities of beneficiaries and promote sustainable agriculture-based enterprises under the RAMP initiative.
The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Dr. Bhabesh Ch. Deka, Principal Scientist & Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, AAU, Nagaon, who highlighted the importance of scientific agriculture, capacity building and entrepreneurship development for strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the district. This was followed by a brief presentation on the purpose and objectives of the workshop by Shri Pranjan Rajmedhi, General Manager, DICC, Nagaon, who emphasized the significance of skill enhancement and institutional support for the successful implementation of the RAMP Scheme. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Shri Jugman Dekaraja, DICC, Nagaon and will continue under supervision of Ms. Gargi Goswami, Asst. Manager, DICC Nagaon.
The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Dharmaraj Kalita, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Nagaon, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of adopting modern agricultural practices, innovation and effective utilization of government support schemes for promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood generation. He urged the participants to make optimum use of the knowledge gained through the training programme for the growth and diversification of their enterprises.
The programme was also attended by Shri Abdul Hamid, Deputy Manager, ASIDC Ltd., Nagaon as a distinguished guest. Shri Nikhil Narayan Baruah, District Agriculture Officer, Nagaon, attended the programme as the Special Guest and delivered an expert lecture on scientific farming practices, value addition, agribusiness opportunities and the scope for sustainable development in the agriculture sector. He emphasized the adoption of modern technologies, improved productivity, post-harvest management and value-added agricultural enterprises to enhance income generation and strengthen the market competitiveness of entrepreneurs.
The first day's programme included sessions on the objectives of the RAMP Scheme, MSME development, entrepreneurship promotion and various government support initiatives. As per the schedule, the second day will comprise specialized technical sessions on agriculture-based entrepreneurship, followed by a field visit to provide participants with practical exposure to modern agricultural practices and successful enterprise models.
The workshop is expected to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity of agriculture sector beneficiaries under CMAAA 2.0 and facilitate the development of sustainable MSMEs in the agriculture sector in Nagaon district. The workshop successfully ended today.
