Nagaon: In a thrilling celebration of veteran cricket, Bordowa Sixers emerged as champions in the 4th Pulin Saikia Memorial Six-A-Side Veteran Cricket Tournament, organized in connection with the 62nd Foundation Day of Star Sporting Club, Nagaon (Pulin Saikia Memorial Veteran Cricket Tournament).

The two-day tournament, held on February 14 and 16 at the iconic Nurul Amin Stadium, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 10 veteran teams from across the region. In the high-voltage final match played today, Bordowa Sixers defeated Kalong Sixers to clinch the championship title.

The competition was formally inaugurated by Club President Alok Goswami. The closing and prize distribution ceremony was attended by Club Secretary Pradip Kumar Hazarika, along with office-bearers Mrinal Kumar Hazarika, Debajit Das, Rajat Bordoloi, and Hirak Jyoti Bora.

Family members of late Pulin Saikia, in whose memory the tournament is organized — including Deepa Saikia, Ajanta Saikia, Rinti Saikia, and Jyotika Das — were also present on the occasion and took part in the prize distribution ceremony, adding emotional significance to the event.

On the field, Sabris Ahmed delivered an outstanding performance and was adjudged Man of the Final, while Harsh Jain was honoured with the Player of the Tournament award for his all-round excellence throughout the competition.

The tournament not only showcased the competitive spirit of veteran cricketers but also added grandeur to the foundation celebrations of Star Sporting Club, reaffirming its commitment to promoting sports and community engagement in the Nagaon region.
