Guwahati: To defeat the opposition alliance in the upcoming Assembly elections, the BJP has prepared several strategies. As part of these strategies, the party will hold election rallies across all 126 constituencies of Assam. In addition, the party will also conduct campaign processions and small meetings at booth and panchayat levels (BJP Assam Star Campaigners 2026).
According to Assam BJP State President Dilip Saikia, the party will deploy 40 star campaigners for the election campaign. Among them are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, among others. BJP ministers and MLAs will also campaign both in their own constituencies and elsewhere as required.
Saikia further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in four campaign rallies. There is also a possibility that he may attend a fifth rally.
Similarly, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to address six to eight campaign meetings. BJP National President Nitin Nabin will attend four campaign rallies. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will also take part in several meetings. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are expected to participate in most of the campaign programmes across the state.
In particular, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will lead an intensive campaign throughout Assam. Saikia also informed that election rallies will be held in constituencies where BJP has fielded candidates, and roadshows will be organised in about 10 constituencies.
He added that campaign programmes will also be conducted in BTC areas and autonomous council regions such as Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate Ranoj Pegu stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on April 1 and address a major joint rally at Gogamukh. This rally will cover several constituencies including Dhemaji, Jonai, Sissiborgaon, Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur, and Majuli.
According to BJP sources, party leaders will highlight the development achieved during the BJP government’s tenure in these meetings. Grassroots-level campaign activities will also be carried out in rural areas and tea garden regions.
