News Desk: The trailer of the highly anticipated action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has created a massive buzz across the country immediately after its release. The trailer, showcasing Ranveer Singh in a fierce and powerful avatar, has generated immense excitement among fans. The craze is clearly reflected in the film’s advance ticket bookings . According to reports, the movie managed to sell tickets worth Rs.4 crore within just two hours after bookings opened on Saturday morning (Dhurandhar 2 Trailer).
Advance Booking Heading Toward a Record
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that for the paid previews scheduled on March 18, nearly 7,500 tickets are being sold every hour. Meanwhile, a report by Bollywood Hungama states that national multiplex chains such as PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis alone have already contributed Rs.2.50 crore in bookings. If this trend continues, the film could become the first movie to sell 1 lakh tickets within 24 hours.
Storyline: From Jaskirat Singh to Hamza
The trailer, which runs for about three and a half minutes, indicates that the storyline continues from the first installment released last December. Ranveer Singh plays Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an agent of India’s intelligence agency R&AW, who takes on the identity of Pakistani don Hamza Ali Mazari to infiltrate Karachi’s Lyari area and dismantle a terrorist network. One of Ranveer’s dialogues from the trailer has already gone viral: “Pakistan’s future will now be decided by Hindustan.”
A Powerful Star Cast
Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. Sanjay Dutt plays a tough police officer named Chaudhary Aslam, whose dialogue in the trailer says: “Why are you crying, son? Haven’t you heard… where there is pain, there is a man (Jahan dard hai vahan mard hai).” Meanwhile, Arjun Rampal reprises his role as the main antagonist Major Iqbal.
Reactions from Bollywood
The trailer has also impressed many Bollywood celebrities. Alia Bhatt was among the first to react, describing it as “Beast Mode On.” Filmmaker Karan Johar wrote: “Baap re!!! The word ‘Baap’ perfectly describes this. A massive storm is coming.” However, some social media users have commented that the sequel feels slightly different compared to the first film.
