Pravinbhai Togadia’s Assam Remarks on ‘Miya’ Detention Trigger Strong BacklashPravinbhai Togadia Demands That All Bangladeshi “Miya” Be Kept in Detention Camps Within Two Months

Nagaon: Pravinbhai Togadia, President of the Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad, has demanded that Bangladeshi “Miya” living in Assam be immediately placed in detention camps and deported within two months (Pravinbhai Togadia Assam Remarks). On Monday, while visiting the residence of senior RSS organizer Dhanpat Gherawat in Nagaon town, the Hindutva leader said that he is on an eight-day tour of Assam through four organizations — the Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad, Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Mahila Parishad, and Yashasvini.

He said the increase in the Muslim population in Assam is a matter of serious concern. “Our resolve is to free Assam from Muslim infiltration. Although nearly 45 years have passed since 1979, it has not been easy to free Assam from Muslim infiltrators . The main reason is that they claim Indian citizenship by producing fake documents, Aadhaar cards, and forged papers,” he said.

Claiming himself to be a 50-year-old doctor, Togadia said he could prove with a single drop of blood that someone is a 100 percent Bangladeshi Muslim, and that no documents would be required for this (Miya Muslim Assam). He demanded DNA tests for Bangladeshi Muslims, alleging that Bangladeshi citizens became Indian citizens through NRC using fake documents, and that those unable to prove their citizenship should be subjected to DNA testing.

He further said, “I support Himanta Biswa Sarma. Narendra bhai, my elder brother, once had red tea at my house. Amit bhai is my younger brother; he too had red tea at my house. Himanta Biswa Sarma is mama (maternal uncle) and I am khura (uncle). So the four of us — elder brother, younger brother, mama, and khura — will together drive out Bangladeshis.”

He also said, “If someone says, ‘Drive out the infiltrators’, we will support them,Hindus will win. At that time, one lakh Miyas had come from Dhaka, and one General Lachit Borphukan had emerged to drive them away. Now, there are 50 lakh Bangladeshi Miyas; therefore, we will bring forth one Lachit Borphukan from every village of Assam. Bangladeshi Miya, be alert — Lachit is coming.” He added, “We have always supported bulldozers; the bulldozer is a symbol of peace.”

Reaction of the Ganatantra Suraksha Mancha and Grameen Shramik Santha to Pravinbhai Togadia’s Remarks

The Ganatantra Suraksha Mancha and Grameen Shramik Santha have strongly reacted to the remarks made by Hindutva leader Pravinbhai Togadia.

In a press statement, Subhrajyoti Bardhan and Arup Kumar Mahanta, President and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Sadou Asom Grameen Santha, along with Mridupawan Bora and Bhupen Sharma, conveners of the Ganatantra Suraksha Mancha stated that they strongly condemn the provocative statements made by Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad leader Pravinbhai Togadia against Bengali-speaking Muslims, commonly referred to as Miya Muslims, which they described as Taliban-like threats.

The statement further mentioned that Togadia’s call to “beat Bengali-speaking Muslims with sticks and ask Assam Police to shoot them” has surely come to the notice of the Home Department of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government, as well as the police and administration.

The leaders of the organizations demanded Togadia’s immediate arrest on charges of inciting people to take the law into their own hands and creating a background conducive to mob lynching and mass violence against Muslims.

The statement added that if the administration and government do not act promptly in this matter, it would amount to patronizing Togadia. Since the police administration has the authority to suo motu register cases for crimes that disrupt social harmony and communal peace, they must do so, the statement concluded.
