Nagaon : All the seven election observers appointed by the Election Commission in the district of Nagaon today interacted with the political parties. The meeting, which was held at DC Office conference hall, attended by all the seven observers deployed by the Commission in the district realizing the importance of the parties in this process (Election Observers Nagaon). They include 2011 batch Indian Administrative Service Officer (IAS) Umashankar Bhargava, , 2012 IAS Shiv Prasad I. and 2011 batch IAS Officer and Secretary to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh Abu Tayeng, who were appointed as the General Observers in the district attended and supervised the entire programme.

The expenditure observers appointed to closely monitor election expenditure are 2008 batch IRS officer T.K. Ramalingam, 2014 IRS Officer Unde Yogesh Pandurang and 2016 IRS Officer Ashok Charan, 2008 IPS officer and Police Observer G. Sivakumar’s presence makes the entire interactive session more dignified. They elaborated about the Election Commission’s rule and regulations regarding conduct of the Assembly election and answered various quaries raised by the political parties. The Observers also explained do’s and don’t s from the political parties end in the election.

The meeting was presided over by the District Election Officer and District Commissioner Devashish Sharma and participated by the representatives of the all political parties besides other senior officers. The District Commissioner D Sharma urged the representatives of all political parties to contest the election with a brotherly attitude and cooperate fully in maintaining peace and order in the district. The meeting was concluded in a very cordial manner with support of the representatives of the parties.
