Nagaon: Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and MP Vaijayant J (Assam Election 2026). Panda today addressed a press conference at the district BJP office in Nagaon, highlighting the achievements of the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Union Budget announcement.

Panda said India has overtaken the UK economy and emerged as the world’s third-largest economy during Modi’s tenure, with nearly 250 million people lifted above the poverty line. He emphasized that capital investment has surged by over 400% compared to the 2004–14 period under the United Progressive Alliance government.
Focusing on Assam, Panda stated that central assistance to the state has risen sharply, crossing ₹3 lakh crore under the present government. He also noted major infrastructure and healthcare expansion, adding that the number of medical colleges in Assam is set to reach 21 by next year.

Highlighting industrial growth, he said the ₹27,000-crore semiconductor project at Jagiroad is progressing rapidly, creating employment opportunities for youth. He further stressed initiatives on women’s empowerment, youth employment in gaming and animation, and expanded airport and transport infrastructure nationwide.

Local MLA Rupak Sharma and Samaguri Constituency MLA Diplu Ranjan Sharma, along with several district BJP leaders, were present at the press meet.
