Nagaon: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma turned 57. On the occasion of his birthday, from midnight onwards, well-wishers from different parts of the state gathered at the Chief Minister’s official residence to extend their greetings. The Chief Minister received the wishes of his supporters at midnight (Himanta Biswa Sarma Birthday Celebration).
Not only this, the Chief Minister’s birthday was celebrated by various groups across the state on Sunday. Along with other parts of Assam, the minority community in Dhing of Nagaon district also celebrated the birthday of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Setting a fine example of communal harmony and social unity, members of the minority community celebrated the 57th birthday of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at midnight in the Batamari area of the Dhing constituency.
In this special programme organised at Batamari on the occasion of the Chief Minister’s birthday, youths and elders from the minority community participated together. Along with cutting a cake to celebrate the birthday of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the minority community offered prayers and dowa (prayer) to Allah. Following complete religious customs, members of the Muslim community of Dhing prayed for the Chief Minister’s long life, good health, and the continuation of the state’s development journey.
Those who took the initiative to celebrate the Chief Minister’s birthday by cutting a cake at midnight said that under the leadership of Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a new chapter of development, peace, and overall progress has begun in Assam. The people present also expressed gratitude for the steps taken by the government for the development of all citizens, without discrimination based on religion, caste, or language.
The birthday celebration was jointly organised by Batamari Yuvak Sangha, South Batamari, and the East Bhomoraguri VDP. As part of the programme, besides cake cutting, a dowa mehfil, social discussion, and exchange of greetings were held.
Local residents who participated in the event said that such celebrations of the Chief Minister’s birthday by the minority community would further strengthen the existing communal harmony and brotherhood in Assam. Everyone expressed hope that Assam’s journey of peace, harmony, and development would continue in the days to come.
