Ajay Mittal,Kaliabor: Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday addressed a massive election rally at the Misa High School playground in Kaliabor, throwing his full weight behind NDA and AGP candidate Keshab Mahanta ahead of the crucial Assam Assembly elections (Amit Shah Rally Kaliabor).
Shah, currently on a two-day visit to Assam, is scheduled to participate in additional campaign rallies on Friday, further intensifying the NDA’s election momentum across the state.
The high-energy rally saw the presence of several prominent leaders, including AGP president Atul Bora, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Chhattisgarh Minister OP Choudhary, and election in-charge K. P. Yadav, along with a large gathering of party workers and enthusiastic supporters.
However, Himanta Biswa Sarma was notably absent from the rally due to prior campaign commitments elsewhere in the state.
In his address, Shah launched a sharp attack on the previous UPA government led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, alleging that despite representing Assam in the Rajya Sabha and holding the nation’s highest office, the government failed to deliver meaningful development for the state.
Drawing a strong contrast, Shah highlighted the achievements of the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that Assam has witnessed unprecedented growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced central support in recent years.
Calling upon voters to consolidate support for the NDA alliance, Shah urged the electorate to cast their ballots in favour of Keshab Mahanta, emphasizing that his victory would ensure sustained progress, stability, and development in the region.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed major election rallies in Gogamukh and Behali a day earlier, underscoring the high-stakes political battle unfolding in Assam.
With top national leaders actively campaigning across the state, the political atmosphere has reached a fever pitch, setting the stage for a closely contested and keenly watched Assembly election.
